Buton Island is an island in Southeast Sulawesi, famous for the production aspalnya. Largest city in the island is Bau - Bau. Buton included in the administrative area of Southeast Sulawesi Province.
Administrative division
Buton Island is in the level II, or District known as the Buton District. At first the capital of Buton Bau - Bau has an area of the former government of the kingdom or sultanate of Buton Buton, which includes parts of Buton Island, part of the island of Muna, a part of the island of Sulawesi, as well as islands in the southern island of Buton. Now with the expansion area, the area is divided into several districts, namely:
1. Buton
2. Bau - Bau
3. Wakatobi
4. District Bombana
Of the four districts, which are on Buton Island is a city Odor - The smell and some of Buton Regency.
