Bombana District is one of the Level II Regions in the province of Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, with Rumbia capital, was established by Act No. 29 of 2003 dated December 18, 2003, which is a result of expansion of Buton Regency.
The population in the year 2005 as many as 110,029 people were recorded as many men and women's 54,635 inhabitants 55,394 inhabitants.
GDP based on current prices in 2005 is Rp. 516,353,940,000, - slightly higher than the previous year is Rp. 409,844,460,000, -.
Based on current prices, GDP per capita in the year 2004 is Rp. 3,961,955.24 rupiah, in the year 2005 to Rp. 4,860,670.99 rupiahs or increased by 22.68 percent.


Area
Bombana District has an area of land area 2845.36 km ² or area of 284,536 ha and the estimated area of marine waters 11,837.31 km ².

Geographical Location
Bombana District is located in Southeast Sulawesi Peninsula, geographically located in the southern part of the equator, stretching from north to south between between 4 ° 30 '- 6 ° 25' South latitude and stretching from west to east between 120 ° 82 '- 122 ° 20 'East Longitude.

Border region
Bombana Regency is bordered by:
North: Kolaka and South Konawe
East side: District Muna and Buton
South: Flores Sea
West: Gulf of Bone

Bombana District before it became part of the Buton government area, but in 2003 this area became an official standing autonomous regions.
